Frequently asked questions about KAISPACE
Straight answers on what KAISPACE is, what it costs, how it differs from other tools, and how it works. For the more technical seat, guest, and recording questions, see the FAQ on the Pricing page too.
What is KAISPACE?
KAISPACE is 2D virtual office software built by PT Kai Teknologi Aplikatif (Kaitech) in Indonesia. Every team member enters the same office map, and audio and video turn on automatically as you approach a colleague, so remote teams feel like they share one room without scheduling a meeting.
How much does KAISPACE cost?
The Team plan starts at IDR 49,000 per seat per month (billed annually, minimum 5 seats) and the Business plan at IDR 99,000 per seat per month (billed annually, minimum 10 seats). A free 7-day trial covers up to 5 people, and an Enterprise plan is available at custom pricing. All prices exclude 11% VAT.
How is KAISPACE different from Zoom or Google Meet?
Zoom and Google Meet are scheduled-meeting tools: you open a call, then close it. KAISPACE is a persistent virtual office. The team stays on the map through the day, and spontaneous conversations start as avatars come close, mirroring how a physical office works.
Is KAISPACE a good fit for teams in Indonesia?
KAISPACE is built in Indonesia by PT Kai Teknologi Aplikatif, available in Indonesian and English, priced in Rupiah, and integrates with Lark. It is aimed at Indonesian remote and hybrid teams looking for a local alternative to Gather or Kumospace.
Who builds KAISPACE?
KAISPACE is built and operated by Kaitech, the trading name of PT Kai Teknologi Aplikatif, a software company based in Indonesia. The product is developed for remote and hybrid teams, with an Indonesian-language interface and pricing in Rupiah.
Is KAISPACE the same as renting a virtual office address for company registration?
No. KAISPACE is spatial virtual-office software for remote-team collaboration, not a legal business-address rental. KAISPACE does not provide a PT/CV domicile address, mail handling, or NIB, NPWP, and PKP processing — for those needs, legal-address providers like vOffice or Regus apply. KAISPACE replaces a team's daily workspace, not its legal address.
Is KAISPACE the first virtual office in Indonesia?
No. "First virtual office in Indonesia" usually refers to legal-address services (company domicile for PT/CV), a category pioneered by providers like Estubizi/VOTE and vOffice. KAISPACE is in a different category: 2D spatial virtual-office software for team collaboration, similar to Gather and Kumospace, and built in Indonesia.
Can KAISPACE be used for online classes or communities, not just an office?
KAISPACE is designed for remote and hybrid teamwork, but its 2D map with spatial audio also suits community sessions, small classes, and internal events. The technical limit: up to 16 participants connected around each person, with video for the 8 nearest. The class scenario is covered on the "For online classes & courses" page.
What platforms does KAISPACE support?
KAISPACE runs on the web, straight from Chrome, Edge, or Safari, so teams can join without installing an app. Core features include a zoned office map, proximity audio-video, session recording, multiple SPACEs for several teams, and Lark integration on the Business and Enterprise plans.
Does my team need to install an app?
No. KAISPACE runs directly in Chrome, Edge, or Safari. Mic, camera, and screen sharing use the browser’s built-in WebRTC.
How many people can talk at once?
One participant connects to at most 16 people at a time, and the 8 nearest get video — the rest get audio. Your whole team can still be in one SPACE spread across many rooms; that limit is per conversation, not per organisation.
Can we use it for a webinar with hundreds of attendees?
Not yet. KAISPACE audio and video use direct peer-to-peer connections with no media server in between, so the format suits small to mid-sized groups spread across many rooms — not one speaker addressing hundreds of listeners.
How do people sign in — can we use existing accounts?
Yes. Beyond email and password, KAISPACE supports signing in through Google Workspace and Lark. SAML SSO is not available yet.
Can it connect to Lark?
Yes. Sign-in through Lark, check-in/check-out flowing into Lark Attendance, and department and manager structure used for team analytics and the leave approval flow.
Can sessions be recorded?
Yes. A single recording runs up to 80 minutes and can be downloaded up to 3 times.
What if our team already uses Slack and Google Meet?
KAISPACE does not replace either. Chat stays in Slack, scheduled meetings can stay in Meet. What we fill in is the spontaneous conversation that went missing.
Is KAISPACE the same as other "KaiSpace" projects online?
No. KAISPACE (kaispace.io) is a 2D virtual office for remote teams built by Kaitech (PT Kai Teknologi Aplikatif) in Indonesia. Other similarly named entities exist — "KaiSpace", an AI product by Free Intelligence Institute LLC (US); "Kaspa Space", a coworking provider in Surakarta; "Space by KAI" by PT Kereta Api Indonesia; and "KAISPE", an enterprise-software provider — all separate, unaffiliated companies; the only overlap is the name.
Is KAISPACE a metaverse office?
Not exactly. KAISPACE is a browser-based 2D virtual office for daily team work, not a 3D VR/AR metaverse platform like metaNesia or Nusameta. KAISPACE uses a 2D spatial map and proximity chat, so it runs lightly without a headset. For teams that need a daily workspace, the 2D approach is usually more practical than a 3D metaverse office.
What is the difference between a metaverse office and a 2D virtual office?
A metaverse office is a 3D space with avatars that often uses VR/AR, suited to events, exhibitions, and immersive training. A 2D virtual office is a browser workspace with a 2D map and proximity chat, designed for daily work and collaboration without a headset. They serve different goals: one for experiences, one for productivity.
Is a metaverse office the same as a legal virtual office address?
No. A metaverse office is a 3D digital workspace, while a legal virtual office is a business-address service for company registration and domicile, with no collaboration software. Address providers such as vOffice and Infiniti sell legitimacy and location, not an application where teams actually work together.
Is there an Indonesian-built virtual office for remote teams?
Yes. KAISPACE is built by PT Kai Teknologi Aplikatif (Kaitech) as a 2D virtual office for remote and hybrid teams, in the same class as Gather and Kumospace but made in Indonesia. It runs in the browser without a headset, priced per seat, so teams that need a shared daily workspace can adopt it easily.
Do you need a VR headset to use a virtual office?
It depends on the category. A 3D metaverse office can use a VR headset for the full experience, though some are also accessible on a normal screen. A 2D virtual office like KAISPACE needs no headset at all: a laptop browser is enough, which makes it easier for teams to adopt for everyday work.
